Portland Fire Station One Design Competition

The team of Hennebery Eddy Architects and Emmons Architects designed this mixed-use project to address four primary goals: Portland Fire and Rescue’s commitment to integration with the community, fostering public safety learning, being a standout sustainable project, and being a tactically effective primary Fire and Rescue facility. As a headquarters, it houses Command and Control, administrative offi ces and hosts official visitors, vendors and citizens. As a Museum and Safety Learning Center it draws children and adults alike to learn about living safely. As a civic landmark and a sustainable building it uses as little as possible, and gives back the maximum.
