Portland State University Business Accelerator Wet Lab
As part of its long-term economic development strategy, the Portland Development Commission (PDC) funded a new wet lab to support innovation in the bioscience industry. A major obstacle to start-up companies locating in Portland has been a lack of bioscience wet labs outfitted with fume hoods, autoclave sterilizers, water, and specialized piped utilities needed to analyze chemicals.
Hennebery Eddy Architects collaborated with Portland Development Commission, Portland State University (PSU), Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and the Oregon Bioscience Association to design the 2,700 square foot space which includes six private bioscience labs centered around a common lab space.
