Sophia's View
Situated on a steeply sloping site in the Macadam Plan District of Southwest Portland, Sophia’s View features a mix of residential flats and townhouse units. The townhouses step down the hill to capture commanding views of Mount Hood and the Willamette River while the condominium flats offer views of Mount St. Helens and downtown Portland. The abstract form of the buildings is dramatic as well as practical providing screened entry porches, private terraces, and de-emphasizing vehicular areas and garages. The buildings are rendered in a simple palette of materials with extensive glazing that connects living spaces to the view. |
