The Spalding Building - Tenant Improvement
Constructed in 1911, the building is registered as a National Historic Landmark and was designed by Cass Gilbert, a notable architect of the era. The existing office spaces' dropped acoustical ceilings are lower than the window head, creating compressed office spaces. Raising the ceiling height back to the original plaster ceiling creates light-filled offices, while a lower soffit along the corridor contains mechanical systems. We retained the solid oak trim around the windows and exterior walls and used white oak trim to relate to the original trim of the building.
