In 2025, Hennebery Eddy recognized new leaders and cheered on our colleagues, shared our expertise across industries, and celebrated project completions and awards. Our success is made possible by the people behind our projects: clients, consultants, and colleagues. Here are our highlights.
Professional Achievements
2025 began with the addition of three new principals and two associate principals to Hennebery Eddy’s leadership team. They were joined midyear by two new associates. We hosted three summer interns, each of whom conducted a research project and participated in project work. Individual recognition continued through the fall: AIA Oregon recognized Elizabeth Lagarde with its Young Architect Award, and Principal Andrew Smith was named an APT Recognized Professional by the Association of Preservation Technology International.
Showcasing Excellence: Presentations, Awards & Publications
Throughout the year, our teams presented at conferences around the country. We highlighted our modernist historic preservation work at the Preserving the Recent Past 4 Conference and shared our progressive design-build work in higher education at the DBIA National Conference. We participated in an aviation design and wayfinding panel at the Northwest AAAE Annual Conference and showcased best practices in community engagement at the Oregon Community College Association Conference. Members of our historic resources group wrapped up the year with four presentations at the APT National conference in Providence, RI. And in Bend, we showcased resilient design strategies from our City of Bend Public Works Campus at the Oregon American Public Works Association conference.
Peer and industry recognition rewarded our long-term efforts to build a firm that reflects our people and design excellence. Our practice and our projects were recognized throughout the year with awards from The Architect’s Newspaper, Architizer, DJC Oregon, Restore Oregon, and the DBIA NW Chapter. A range of projects received press coverage, including the Bozeman Community Food Co-op and Portland International Airport Concourse E Extension featured on ARCAT’s Detailed podcast, the Astoria Public Library renovation in Oregon ArtsWatch, and the Portland Art Museum Rothko Pavilion in The New York Times, Architect’s Newspaper, Metropolis, and others.
Embracing Our Communities: Giving Back in 2025
Since our founding, Hennebery Eddy has supported the communities where we work and live through financial contributions, volunteering, and pro bono services. In 2025, we completed service projects at the Oregon Outdoor Education Center, at Bozeman’s Story Mill Learning Garden, and with Portland’s social services non-profit Street Roots. Through our Hennebery Eddy Gives program, we supported more than 50 organizations that inspire hope and action, embrace those in need, and commit to environmental renewal, totaling more than 6% of the firm’s annual net profit.
