Hennebery Eddy’s rehabilitation of the Oregon Supreme Court in Salem, Oregon, was honored with a National Preservation Award during the 2026 National Preservation Summit in Washington, D.C. The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation National Preservation Award is one of the highest national honors in the preservation field. Awarded by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the award celebrates the “best of the best” in preservation projects across the country, highlighting cutting-edge preservation approaches and technologies. It recognizes distinguished individuals, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and corporations whose vision and commitment have strengthened communities through the preservation of architectural and cultural heritage. The Oregon Supreme Court Interior Modernization & Seismic Retrofit is one of only three recipients nationwide in 2026.

Hennebery Eddy’s rehabilitation of the historic Oregon Supreme Court Building carefully integrated a base-isolated seismic structural system, new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, meticulous restoration and preservation of historic interior finishes, and full renovation of first-floor office spaces.

Receiving a Richard H. Driehaus Foundation National Preservation Award places recipients among a select group of preservation leaders whose work has made a lasting impact on their communities. The award reflects a commitment to safeguarding historic resources while helping them meet the needs of today. By honoring exemplary achievements, the National Trust for Historic Preservation highlights the value of historic places and the people dedicated to ensuring their stories continue for generations to come.
