Galen is a regional leader in sustainable design strategies. He works with project teams across the firm to optimize designs through energy-use analysis, daylighting studies, and life-cycle carbon calculations. He led the sustainability and resiliency design on the City of Bend Public Works Campus. Galen was appointed to the inaugural City of Portland Sustainability and Climate Commission, which guides and champions Portland’s climate goals via the City’s Climate Action Plan. He also organizes the Portland hub of the Carbon Leadership Forum. Galen holds a Master of Architecture and a Master of Interior Architecture, both from the University of Oregon.
