Westin Portland and The Daily Grill – Interiors

The complete interior renovation of this 19-story hotel established a rich new hospitality experience and placed the Portland Westin at the upper tier of downtown Portland hotels. Hennebery Eddy worked with David Hill Designs to renovate all 205 rooms, the penthouse, conference center, lobby/reception area, library, sitting room/lounge, and the adjacent bar and restaurant with high-grade, contemporary materials, furnishings, and lighting. Custom-designed tiles, lighting fixtures, teak wall panels, and meticulously detailed casework and seating combined to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Compelling contemporary fine artwork was featured throughout public areas, establishing distinct and timeless character.

Hennebery Eddy also worked with the Westin to improve the flow between the hotel lounge and the Daily Grill, its adjacent bar/restaurant. Opening up the interior space to connect the formerly compartmentalized lobby to the hotel bar and restaurant enabled guests to order food and cocktail service in a relaxed, light-filled space. A dramatic 10-foot-long open fire feature integrated into the bar provided a dynamic but transparent separation between these spaces.

“I wish to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff at Hennebery Eddy Architects for a job well done … The working relationship with you and your team on the design and coordination of the Daily Grill project was superb.”
